CBS Drops Imus Radio Show

The New York Times - CBS brought the tumultuous weeklong crisis over racially insensitive remarks by the radio host Don Imus to an end late this afternoon when it canceled the “Imus in the Morning” program, effective immediately. The move means that Mr. Imus, who has been broadcasting his program for more than 30 years, no longer has a home on either national radio or television on MSNBC.More...

Google, Clear Channel Ink Radio Deal

Fox News reports that Google and Clear Channel Communications announced a long-term agreement that allows Google to place advertising for its online customers on more than 675 Clear Channel radio stations. In December, Google started testing a radio advertising service meant to reach hundreds of radio stations nationwide. The company is slowly adding advertisers to the service, though Google didn't make clear how many advertisers are involved so far, nor did it set a timetable for opening the service to all. More...

Agency Satisfaction Bleak

Ad Age is reporting on a disturbing report from Forrester regarding client satisfaction with their agencies. "There's always an undercurrent of discontent with agencies," said Peter Kim, a senior analyst at Forrester. "What surprised me is that three-quarters do not measure agency ROI. They're dissatisfied, yet on what basis? It's a vague disenchantment, or disappointment; it's a feeling that there isn't data to back up." XM and Sirius to Merge
